Hello Lovelies,

A lot has happened over these last few months, and I want to give you an update.

I’ve listened to several audio books, and read many actual books on topics such as story writing, medieval times, comic format, literary writing, etc. I believe this self education effort has been successful. I feel much more capable of creating a good story, and telling it well.

When I started this comic, I only had the beginning planned out. And while creating pages, I struggled to write the remainder of the story on the side. It was stressful. And more than once, I wished I could have changed something on a page that was already posted. I learned my lesson. Don’t start making pages until the full story is set in stone.

I’ve also been working on blending literary form with comic form, and it’s been tricky. I do have a knack for creative writing, but I’ve had much more practice telling stories in a comic format. Right now, I’m on the fence if I’m combining the two forms well or not. If I can’t combine the forms well, I won’t do it. I’ll stick to comic pages only. I know the point was to save time by incorporating written pages, but the quality of the story is most important to me.

I ran into a hick-up with my scanner printer. It broke. It had always been temperamental, but I put up with it because it was the only affordable art quality, large bed scanner out there. No joke, other large bed scanners will put you back at least $2,000. Unable to make that type of financial commitment, I replaced the broken scanner with a much more affordable, but much smaller, standard sized scanner. So, instead of drawing pages on 11” x 16” sheets, I am now redrawing them on 8” x 12” sheets.

I lucked out and found a good month to month to live in while waiting to move into my forever home. But the time frame has changed. Instead of moving in late November, I’ll be moving mid September. I’m so excited, but the the time frame change means things will require my attention sooner than planned.

So, big question, when will updates start?
Answer… I don’t know know yet.

As a person that thrives on setting goals, it kills me to say it. But I don’t know. It took more time than I thought to do research. And the non-comic parts of my life has kept me very busy. As a creator, I don’t want to create just a comic. I want to create a GREAT comic! And doing that takes time.

So, this is my plan:

First, I’d like to refund all my Patreons who continued to support me during my hiatus. I appreciate your support, but since I’m unable to resume updates in August as planned, I want to refund everyone who has stayed, for three months worth of their Patronage. I tried issuing refunds through Patreon already, but it wasn’t working. I’ve sent an email to Patreon to figure out how to make this possible. If they are unable to help, I can assure refunds through PayPal as a “gift”, and I will be contacting you individually to make sure that the refund is going to the right place.

After that is settled, I’m going to close my Patreon account until further notice. And I’m going to resume working on this comic, but at my own pace, while out of the spot light of the web. After I get to a certain point, I may start uploading again, or I might take a chance at getting it published. I’m not sure yet.

Thank you again for all your support!

And as always… Hugs,
